Winter couldn’t get any cooler, now that the brand new Oculus Touch is out and we’re all absolutely losing it! Besides knocking out Vive, Oculus Touch was the feature Oculus lacked – a VR controller for your hands that pairs with the headset better than wine pairs with steak! All of our prayers have been answered and the Oculus experience is complete.
One of its mind blowing features is the way it mimics your fingers’ movement with almost life-like precision. For example, if you lift a finger from a button – it will be read as if you were pointing that finger. That’s pretty much as real as virtual reality gets for now!
Two controllers, specially designed for your left and right hands with attached wrist straps, providing the feel you need to enjoy shooting and gripping other items in your VR world. Each controller has an analog stick, two trigger buttons – one for your index and another for your middle finger; two face buttons, and either a menu button or an Oculus Home button. It fits like a glove and almost hides inside your grasp. Visually, it’s represented by floating hands, instead of a pair of controllers floating on your screen.
Available from the 6th of December, Oculus Touch costs only $199. If you think that is too much, then you’d be delighted to know that it comes with two video games and a second sensor to support the first one used for the headset. Additional sensors could be purchased for $70 apiece.
If you want to take your Oculus Touch out for a spin – check out Dead and Buried to get your gun-slinging fix. The Oculus Touch is accompanied by The Unspoken and VR Sports Challenge, while Fruit Ninja VR remains a favorite. Whichever one you pick, all of these options are guaranteed to offer pure stimulation as you get acquainted with your new favorite gadget! That’s not all, there are painting and sculpting software you can unleash your virtual artistry on.
If you already own an Oculus Rift, you shouldn’t waste any more time before you get the Oculus Touch. It’s also a perfect holiday season gift, if you want to make someone’s day – or their entire year!
